I'm delighted to announce that I'm working on a collection of my own short stories that have featured on the Listen with Other podcast.
It will include specially extended versions of six Mind Children stories, previously only available as souvenir books to close friends of the show.
I'm hoping this will be out in time for Christmas!

In an exclusive London girls’ school a pupil plunges to her death while others bunk off to chase men in Kensington nightclubs.
Deejay Simon Parish sets up a new magazine for swinging London and, with his new colleagues, hack Mike Dash and beautiful heiress Dorothy Baker, he decides to investigate.
In 1967 Patrick Drake, now utterly forgotten, was the hip new voice on the crime scene. He got an unprecidented huge advance from his original publishers and was photographed around swinging London with sports cars and dolly birds.
Magpie Crime are delighted to announce that we have secured the rights to republish the first book in the Simon Parish series for the first time in almost 60 years.
Stay tuned to learn more about this in the Listen with Other podcast.
A paperback will be available here soon.
Anthony is a teenage boy on holiday in Cornwall with his mum. His dad has stayed back home in London. When there’s a massive terrorist attack in the capital, his dad vanishes and Anthony’s life starts to fall apart.
A girl called Patience who’s staying in a nearby chalet comes to Anthony’s rescue. Was his Dad really who he seemed? And could pretty, rich girl Patience actually be the girl of Anthony’s dreams – his imaginary girlfriend Constance Breakwater?
Constance Breakwater and her Beautiful Museumhood is a short book aimed at young and old adults alike.
It's the first complete thing I wrote as an adult, back in 2008, so perhaps it's a first pancake, it certainly feels like juvenalia now, but people who have read it say that it has stuck with them, and that they can imagine it as a film.

Magpie Books is a new outlet for publishing books associated with the Listen with Other podcast.
Over time, I hope to build a small list of short books and collections of stories, possibly branching out into more eBooks and possibly even audio books too.
Watch, as they say, this space.
